President's Welcome

Back to PWI Magazine - Q1 2014

Dear PWI members and readers,

First of all I would like you to join me in welcoming our new Silver corporate member Atlas Copco. Soon we will organise a networking drink for new members. You are all welcome to join! Stay tune!

Since the beginning of the year, we were pleased to propose you 6 different events. I hope each of you could find interesting topics for them in it. If you would like to suggest new topics, or if you have participate to an excellent presentation that you would like to share with the other PWI’s member, send your idea and suggestions to events@pwi.be

Tomorrow more than 25 of us will welcome our fellow members from PWN Amsterdam to celebrate with us the international women day and get an update on European commission about the Women on board directive after our welcoming lunch sponsored by our corporate Partner Total.

Now let focus on the near future!

Always dreamed about following courses given by top professors from the MIT, Yale, or Shanghai Jiao Tong University for example but you don’t have the time or the resources to do it! Now you have an opportunity to do it from home, come and listen to the event  on Massive Open Online Courses  on March 18th. You can read more about it in this magazine too.

A déja-vu feeling when you are trying to solve a conflict without success? It is probably time to try another way to solve the problem. During the workshop on April 3rd, Find a long lasting solution to the conflicts that matter in your life, Mirna Hidalgo and Anita Sheehan will give you some tips.

Don't forget that the next mentoring wave will start later this year on June 12th. Come and join us even if you are not sure you want to be a mentee or a mentor. It is a unique occasion to listen to testimonials and understand more about the programme.   You would like to be a mentor but you are not sure yet? We will have a special event with “old”, new or potential mentors on May 8th. If you are interested, you can learn more about the programme on our web site or contact Melanie Barker at Mentoring@pwi.be

Time now to discover our brand new magazine.
We have added also a simple PDF version for those of you that print or want to read it offline: PWI Magazine_Q1 2014.pdf

We hope you will be inspired by this issue. It is full of great interviews of very inspiring people. If you’d like to comment on it or contribute to the next issue, please get in touch by emailing Alessandra Zocca at editor@pwi.be

Enjoy the reading!
